I finished Thomas’ bedroom last week. I chose a baseball theme for him. I was pretty happy with the way that it came out. I have never been very creative when it comes to decorating. I was really nervous about picking out the colors of paint. I thought putting up a border would be the easiest thing for a beginner to do. Apparently, putting up border isn’t the “in” thing so finding one that I liked was pretty difficult. In the end though I thought I did OK. His room turned out a little darker than I would have liked but I think that will help him sleep a little better.
Since Thomas was a baby I have had a very hard time trying to get him to sleep in his own bed. For whatever reason he always wants to sleep with me. At his own house he goes to bed fine sleeping in his own bed and has never had a problem doing so. My house is a different story. So, the majority of the time he goes to bed before me and when I go to bed I put him in his bed. I thought if I decorated his room and made it more like home it would help him feel more comfortable sleeping in there. The colors I choose are similar to the colors he has at home. At home he has trucks and cars on the walls.
Thomas was really excited to see his new baseball bed!!! Best of all he was happy to sleep in his new bed all by himself. I just hope that the happiness continues.
