Thomas is a kindergartener!

IMG_7734 I don’t know where all the time gone.  I can still remember the day that he was born and it seems like it was yesterday.  Thomas has gotten to be such a big boy.  I can’t believe that he is a kindergartener.  Life as he knows it is over.  He has been lucky enough that he spends the majority of the time with Kelly at home.  This past year he went to preschool two days a week for just a couple of hours and he has always  only had to go to day care 5 days out of the month so having to get up and get ready for school 5 days a week is going to be a huge adjustment!

I’m so excited for him to be able to go and make new friends and see the progress that he makes over the next year!

Family vacation- Lake Tahoe- Day #4

IMG_7555

We had all gotten way to much sun and Kelly and I got pretty nasty sunburns the day before so on our last day in Lake Tahoe we decided to lay low and go bowling and to the park.  Thomas had only gone bowling one other time and really enjoyed himself.  Noelle on the other hand did not like the noise and spent the entire time with her hands over her ears.

Family vacation- Lake Tahoe- Day #3

IMG_7329

On Day 3 of our vacation we found another beach to take the kids to.  This one was more kid friendly.  We had another great picnic and spent the day making sandcastles and playing in the lake. IMG_7374IMG_7387Kelly and Noelle’s sandcastle was much better than mine.  IMG_7470IMG_7369 IMG_7370    Karly did what she does best again… and slept under the umbrella the entire time but she still managed to get a little pink.  IMG_7401 IMG_7459  IMG_7490   After a long afternoon at the Lake we headed back to our hotel to relax before going to dinner.  I told Thomas not to loose the bag that we had packed his toys in.  This is how he decided he would keep track of where it was.  IMG_7539

Family vacation- Lake Tahoe- Day #2

IMG_7233

Thomas, Noelle and I stayed in one room while Kelly, Dave and Karly stayed in another.  I think Thomas, Noelle and I had more fun in our room by far.  Where else do you get grape soda for breakfast?

IMG_7105 We decided to go to this little shack of a restaurant for breakfast.  It was great! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the great weather and we had a fabulous breakfast.

IMG_7107 IMG_7119 IMG_7122

We learned a great lesson that day.  When you get to the restaurant you should always ask what kind of payment they take.  After we had our fabulous breakfast, I went and attempted to pay our bill with my credit card and was promptly told they didn’t take credit cards.  They only took cash and local checks.  We were very lucky that I had some cash on me that day because normally I don’t.  That could’ve been very embarrassing.

After breakfast we went to the grocery store and picked up some stuff to have a picnic lunch at the beach.

IMG_7183Noelle and Dave took a long walk along the beach.  IMG_7194 Afterwards she was pretty hungry and managed to eat just about a whole bag of chips on her own.  IMG_7198Thomas and I played in the sand and tried to find creatures in the lake.  IMG_7148

Karly did what she did best…. sleep.

IMG_7210  Kelly was able to relax and spend some time with Karly.

IMG_7249 IMG_7251 We all had a great day at the Lake.

Family vacation- Lake Tahoe- Day #1

We had a pretty stressful last couple of months and thought it would nice to get out of town.  We really hadn’t had the chance to take the kids anywhere since Karly had arrived.  We didn’t have a whole lot of time to plan anything because we waited till the last minute and I was going back to work (after 6 weeks off) and I new that my boss wouldn’t be happy with me asking for another week off. So we decided on something close and inexpensive.  We headed for Lake Tahoe on a Thursday afternoon.IMG_7068

After checking into our hotel we headed downtown to have dinner.

IMG_7096Dave loves anything that is super spicy.  He tried ordering some fire hot wings but the waiter told him that he thought that they would be too hot and it would ruin the rest of his dinner and suggested the medium spicy ones instead. The waiter said that they would be really spicy and wouldn’t be good for the kids.  But when they came they were not spicy at all and the kids ended up eating the majority of them.

IMG_7086IMG_7089IMG_7091Dave was no happy with the waiters suggestion.  He should’ve went with the fire hot wings.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel to prepare for the next days adventure.

Happy 4th of July

As many of you know, I love the 4th of July and this year was no different.

The past couple of years I have been trying to make creative cupcakes for dessert. This year I made blueberry and cherry pie cupcakes.

100_0582They were a lot easier than I thought they would be and were a hit the kids.

We had a fun packed day.  We went to the neighborhood swimming pool for a picnic and swimming.

100_0609     100_0621Kelly decided to try on Noelle’s Dora the Explorer goggles.  100_0625

100_0633    Then we went home and had the annual block party with everyone in the cul-de-sac. We had a great bbq, baseball game and a huge fireworks display cutesy of Dave and Rob.  I can’t wait for next year.  100_0639 100_0660100_0672100_0679100_0684100_0685
