San Diego bound

Last weekend I was lucky to be able to go down to San Diego and visit Julie, Tyler and Kate.  Troy was in Las Vegas with my Dad so I was there to help Julie and I got a nice vacation out of the deal too.

One of my favorite things to do while I’m in San Diego is going to frozen yogurt. I know you can get frozen yogurt anywhere, there’s just something about frozen yogurt in San Diego.  So, Julie and I picked up Tyler from school and Kate from daycare and headed to get some yogurt.  We had a nice evening playing with the kids.

Then on Saturday we headed to the San Diego Zoo.  They have annual passes and go often so Tyler was excited to show me all of his favorite things there.

After enjoying the zoo for most of the afternoon, we stopped for a treat.  IMG_1231   IMG_1243

That evening we fed Kate rice cereal for the first time.

I think that she thought we were crazy but overall she did pretty well.

Then on Sunday we took Tyler to go and get his party supplies for his birthday party in a couple weeks.  He was thrilled to go and pick out his super hero supplies.  Then we went and had a great lunch at Chili’s.  Then home for a nice nap.

Then Monday morning came.  We all had to get up early so I could get to the airport by 8:00.  The kids were GREAT.  We were ready and out the door on time and I actually got to the airport earlier than I had expected.

It was a short trip but it was nice.  Sometimes it’s just nice to get away and visit family.  I wish I got to spend more time with Tyler and Kate and of course Julie.  We don’t do it nearly enough.

Thanks for a great weekend, Julie, Tyler and Kate. I am already looking forward to my next long weekend.
